Vinterkrig was formed 1996 in Stockholm, Sweden.

During their few years of activity the band made four live gigs. Most notably, opening up for Amon Amarth, Necrophobic and Naglfar.

In 1997 they recorded the demo 'härskare över stjärnorna och mina drömmar' in Abyss Studio.

Even though the recording never went to print it still became a highly valued gem within the melodic black metal scene.
