VARGRAV - Netherstorm CD
There's no doubt that Emperor has been a major influence in black metal, especially when it comes to creating the symphonic black metal genre. Many bands would come out to replicate the symphonic style that Emperor is known for, but many of them are either just watered-down versions of Emperor albums or just flat out boring. Vargrav, however, does stand out in a way that makes him different from most Emperor worship clones, and this is especially apparent with his 2017 debut album "Netherstorm".
While it's true that there's a lot of Emperor-sounding moments on this album, it's a lot more than just a more modern version of "In The Nightside Eclipse". The instruments are still able to stand out with its melodic synths and enraged riffs, and V-KhaoZ's vocals are powerful enough to carry most of the instrumentals. If you are a fan of some Emperor-worship, then Vargrav's "Netherstorm" is an album you have to check out.
