Trail of Tears is one of the most underrated bands from the original gothic metal movement, and, in a sense, there is an explanation for that. They composed significantly heavier songs, something that would only escalate as their career progressed. Many of the elements that set them apart from others were already present in this debut, which to me still stands as their best release. The soundscape in 'Disclosure' is very dramatic and sorrowful, with several layers juxtaposed to create a dark atmosphere, and I safely attest that it is a forgotten masterpiece of the genre.
