The Gathering is a monstruous album that has aged very well, since it still sounds incredibly clear and heavy. Its modern production fits both current thrash and even death metal. This is also Chuck Billy's strongest performance ever. Both his cleans and his growls are simply amazing and he sounds comfortable doing them, besides having a songwriting approach that was made to get the best off him.
