STONE - Colours CD

I'm getting physically tired of repeating the words 'brilliant stuff' et similia during this mini-series, but there you go once again. It's true, you're likely to feel inevitably lost on a first listen, especially if you're expecting pure thrash, as the pace is very different and largely slower. On some levels, the album is a bit of a missing link between the occasionally perfected thrash sound of No Anaesthesia! and the '90s sensibilities of the subsequent swansong Emotional Playground, but in the end every Stone release bar the debut (partially) is a must-listen. With Colours Stone definitely became one of those attention-requiring bands that I look at with mistrust, more often than not. This time, I'm more than willing to concede it to them.
