OVERDRIVE - Metal Attack Digi-CD
With 5 bonus tracks.
First and foremost, most songs have a viable hook, ones strong enough to color tracks pretty distinguishable from one another. Now that’s, um, pretty amazing, Dave. Get out much? Well, any other day this normally wouldn’t be the review’s tabletop centerpiece, but I just got done listening to some real creeaaap that religiously refused to locate a curve in its songs’ roads to the shitter, so comparably “Back on the Hunt” and “Heart of Stone” are thrill rides and a half. In other words, much of this album’s traditional character leaps fairly athletically over the average hurdle of yer commonly distilled hard rocker/metal clipper, and just so you know, no up n’ coming-in-‘83 speed metal is found revving at the line here. That, my cherubs, would become part of Overdrive’s world when they arm for next year’s Swords and Axes.
