Canada's Odinfist has been banging around for nearly 20-years, settling into a comfortable power metal element that seems to fit their bill rather nicely. Now, I'd be remiss if I didn't say that the anthem-laden, fist-pumping, flag-waving metal lulled me into near somnolence many, many moons ago. Truthfully, I never got into the Manowar-esque style of posturing of heavy metal past my teen years, so my taste for such musical efforts was left pretty much polluted by the sameness of the sub-genre. All of that simmering indifference aside, I will say that Odinfist manages to cover all of the aforementioned bases. Current metal moods aside, this band never fails to impress me to no end, and I personally love it when a band is good enough to shut my mouth and change my views for me on rare occasions.
