LUCIFER'S CHILD - The Wiccan CD

Lucifer's Child formed in 2013, the brainchild of Stathis Ridis of Nightfall and George Emmanuel of Rotting Christ and Chaostar. The band was formed with the intent of creating some form of unity between music and spirituality, using Hellenic black metal as their vehicle. Ridis and Emmanuel recruited fellow Grecian musicians Nick Vell, a live drummer for Chaostar, and vocalist Marios Dupont to round out the lineup and in the summer of 2014 the band recorded their debut album, The Wiccan. The album is finally seeing the light of day in the fall of 2015, with a release through Dark Essence Records.

Bringing their own take on classic Hellenic black metal, Lucifer's Child play a sound that has that majestic and nostalgic flair of the forerunners of the scene, while managing to inject a bit of fresh air into things. The hallmarks of the scene certainly present themselves in full force; from the sweeping theatrical atmospherics to the melodic riffing accompanied by a constantly pulsing rhythm section. Even though vocalist Marios Dupont is a relative newcomer to the scene, his gravelly, rasped vocals are a dead ringer for the stalwarts of the Hellenic style.
