HANDFUL OF HATE - Qliphothic Supremacy Digi-CD

The worldwide black metal explosion didn’t leave Italy without some good groups in this genre. The very first ones were Mortuary Drape, Necromass and Necrodeath (black-thrash) while Handful Of Hate belong to a sort of “second wave” of black metal, being formed by the beginning of the 90s, with this first effort in 1997. As you know, in Italy we have got so much respect for the precursors of a genre, that sometimes we took directly from their music to add new elements in the sound. This is the example of Handful Of Hate, that, with this album were inspired by the old wave of the black metal bands.

Handful Of Hate don’t copy the music but the create their own personal style with old school elements that are inevitable if you grow up listening to a certain kind of music. So, beside the natural, aggressive black metal we can find occult elements in their music. The opener “Reborn From The Ashes” is the first of the many examples of fast black metal alternated to some more gloom and slow parts that point on the clear arpeggios with keyboards sounds too. The goal is to create the most ritualistic and doom music ever and I think that in this case the adjective “ethereal” is correct.
