GRAVE DIGGER - Heavy Metal Breakdown CD

Heavy Metal Breakdown pre-dates such classics as Gates of Purgatory and Walls of Jericho so it almost entirely thrives off of influences from Motörhead and Accept. The latter becomes apparent right away with Chris Boltendahl's rusty barking. He always dances around the screaming territory on most of the songs, but thankfully he doesn't have the AC/DC shenanigans Udo had. Even though his delivery is top-notch through the entirety of the album, I need to highlight how great the choruses are. Be it the earworm anthems like the title track and We Wanna Rock You or the energetic outbursts of Headbanging Man, he constantly delivers memorable moments with ease.
