It is probably not much of a secret that Sweden has some of the greatest power metal (and metal in general) bands so it did not come as surprise that one of my first finds came in form of the fairly new outfit Evermore. Based on the information available the three vikings behind this band have not been too active in the scene, at least when it comes to releasing music. In their biography they stated that among the obvious names like Helloween or Stratovarius their influences also include Pantera or Children of Bodom. Listening to the debut full length “Court of the Tyrant King” I could not really find anything resembling the two latter – and this is perfect. With all due respect I do not want Pantera or CoB in my power metal!
