As I understand, this is Disgrace's fourth (!) demo tape. It's a big improvement over their previous demo as well as the "Debts of Gods" EP. The production is better, and the music is much more original and memorable. They re-recorded all of these songs for their first full-length LP a year later (see my review), but they didn't sound nearly as good as they do on this tape. I'm convinced that this release is the pinnacle of their career. If you're unfamiliar with Disgrace's early material, they played a form of depressive, down-tuned death metal with vocals along the lines of Demilich or very early Amorphis. There are four songs on this demo, and every moment of each one of them is simply amazing.
