DEATH - Symbolic LP (Black Vinyl)
30th Anniversary Edition
Includes printer inner sleeve with lyrics.
As an album, Chuck had a goal, make Death's last record the best record. From writing memorable riffs and lyrics to having very tight performances in the guitars, bass, drums, and vocals to getting this record put out via Roadrunner, this album was a major moment in Death's history. Putting it all together, the listener should come away from this feeling satisfied, 50 of the best minutes of their day spent listeing to this. In a perfect world, Death ends their studio discography on Symbolic and Chuck gets to put out 2 records under Control Denied instead. Honestly, that's my only gripe with this record, Chuck didn't get to make this the final Death record. Otherwise it's sheer perfection, from the 0:00 mark of "Symbolic" to 8:21 on "Perennial Quest", every moment well used, not waiting for any track to get on with itself or onto the next.
