DEAD CONGREGATION - Purifying Consecrated Ground MCD
This is what arose from the ashes of Nuclear Winter, though Anastasis is the only guy the two bands have in common. And while Nuclear Winter was a Kaamos worshipping band Dead Congregation is more to the American scene of death metal.
Seriously heavy, churning strings opens the gates to another dimension. A dimension where god is a since-long forgotten word, and what’s left is a species of demons in this dark world of morbidity. The full and fat sound really lets the powerful guitar and bass work shine through. Shine like a blackened guiding star for all that’s unholy. Some of the greatest and most powerful, well-planned riffing is to be found on Purifying consecrated ground. Pulverizing drums and nightmarish growls that’ll haunt your dreams…
They mix some wicked old school death metal with a dash of the newer schooled US-style. And on some occasions I find myself relating to Cannibal Corpse for the heavy, slow, churning breakdowns. Really looking forward to their next output, hopefully as powerful as this one.
