"Aske" is a satisfying EP. Continuing to show Varg's movements and evolution into that pure atmospheric black metal perfection we would hear in later releases. It remains very riffy rather than leaning into pure atmospheric black metal. But it continues to show how well Varg can create some killer black metal with a unique atmosphere. Once again showing why Burzum stood out amongst Norway's other pioneering black metal bands. Check this EP out. Killer black metal all the way through.
