BAXAXAXA - Spells From The Crypt... CD

A compilation of Baxaxaxa early recordings, titled "Spells From The Crypt". It contains the legendary "Hellfire" demo from 1992, "The Old Evil" demo and the "Devoted to HIM" 7".

Baxaxaxa is a German black metal band that no doubt has an odd band name. Like, how do you come up with something like "Baxaxaxa"? However, don't be fooled by the name, as the band does has a bit of a following with some rather disturbing releases, especially with their debut demo "Hellfire" that released in 1992. Being released during the earlier years of black metal, this demo does feel a bit special, especially for its sound.

This demo is spectacular for its time. The doomy riffs and slow drumming really does make it stand out from other black metal releases at the time, and even the vocals in of themselves are pretty decent. Baxaxaxa won't return to the metal scene until recently, where they've even released their first full-length album last year. Despite this, "Hellfire" still remains a haunting demo that I highly recommend you check out.
