The surprise release comes from the Australian death metallers Abramelin. They began in 1988 under the name Acheron but changed to their current name in 1994. That same year they released their first EP, Transgressions from Acheron, which many fans still consider a classic.

I do wish Abramelin would get more recognition in the scene and more credit for what they have done for Death Metal, and hopefully this album will help ensure that.
